About the role

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Actively contribute to the development and assessment of the Health and Wellbeing team’s multi-year roadmap.
  • Build and maintain relationships with critical stakeholders to assess, drive, and deliver mental health and wellbeing support through established programs.
  • Provide services, training, and consultations to corporate, regional, field and hospital leaders to assist in building leadership competencies and capabilities around Associate mental health and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the mental health areas where we can influence and have an impact for our leaders and Associates within the organization and provide tailored programs and services to meet the needs of Associates.
  • Collaborate and partner with the field P&O leaders to provide key mental health insights, information, and resources to help guide decisions in addressing Associate issues.
  • Maintain consistent, accurate documentation of services and activities delivered to the Associate and leaders in our organization while ensuring professional and ethical confidentiality is strictly maintained.
  • Develop materials and present on topics of expertise for Mars Veterinary Health, such as compassion fatigue, stress management, work/life balance, and other applicable mental health and wellbeing topics.
  • Stay current on research and development within the industry around mental health and also veterinary-specific mental health, and cascade within Mars Veterinary Health as beneficial.
  • Travel is required 30% – 40% of the time.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience.
  • Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work or the equivalent years of experience in the mental health field.
  • Required: An active clinical license, in good standing, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or an equivalent independent clinical license, LCSW preferred.
  • Required: Prior experience leading through influence and collaborating effectively with a diverse team.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a veterinary hospital setting, with 4+ years in macro or meso social work, or in a medical, or social services environment.
  • Preferred: EAP consulting or on-site critical incident response.
