About the role

  • Lead, develop and manage associate veterinarians in their hospitals.
  • Ensure delivery of quality care and meet expected hospital performance measures.
  • Act as Responsible Veterinarian for Veterinary and Pharmacy Board Permits.
  • Own doctor engagement and retention by creating a culture of community and engagement.
  • Provide effective medical leadership to hospital teams.
  • Validate clinical skills of doctors and veterinary staff.
  • Coach newly hired veterinarians to ensure an engaging experience.
  • Partner with Director of Veterinary Quality and Talent Acquisition team to recruit talent.
  • Develop and maintain succession plan for assigned hospital pod.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical essentials and government regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent foreign degree required.
  • Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure with all applicable state veterinary boards for assigned hospitals.
  • 3 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery practice.
