About the role
- Lead, develop and manage associate veterinarians in their hospitals.
- Ensure delivery of quality care and meet expected hospital performance measures.
- Act as Responsible Veterinarian for Veterinary and Pharmacy Board Permits.
- Own doctor engagement and retention by creating a culture of community and engagement.
- Provide effective medical leadership to hospital teams.
- Validate clinical skills of doctors and veterinary staff.
- Coach newly hired veterinarians to ensure an engaging experience.
- Partner with Director of Veterinary Quality and Talent Acquisition team to recruit talent.
- Develop and maintain succession plan for assigned hospital pod.
- Ensure compliance with clinical essentials and government regulations.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent foreign degree required.
- Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure with all applicable state veterinary boards for assigned hospitals.
- 3 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery practice.
