About the role

  • Provide tax and advisory services to various nonprofits as a trusted member of the team
  • Review and analyze nonprofit tax returns, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism, and accuracy
  • Lead and plan client engagements and evaluate processes to implement efficiencies and best practices
  • Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison, and assist team leaders with research and additional services
  • Delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state nonprofit tax laws and regulations
  • Network and build relationships internally and externally to grow the practice
  • Invest in professional development and participate in firm-wide learning programs
  • Support growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy

Requirements

  • CPA or JD required
  • Five (5)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance, preferably in the nonprofit tax area
  • Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others and provide exceptional client service
  • Commitment to continuous learning to stay current regarding applicable strategies
  • Appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
  • Candidates highly preferred to be in California
