About the role

  • Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of all HSE concepts and standards.
  • Act as the main responsible person for HSE internally and externally.
  • Develop and execute hazard and risk assessments (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP).
  • Establish occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs; coordinate and document hygiene measurements.
  • Define HSE requirements for site projects and ensure alignment with Quality/GMP, Global HSE, and local HSE teams.
  • Cooperate with fire brigade, emergency services, and external authorities on emergency management.
  • Create, review, and approve HSE-related procedures and documentation (SOPs, VORs, policies).
  • Deliver HSE training and promote behavior‑based safety on site.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and monitor regulatory developments.
  • Build and develop a strong HSE organization and act as a role model in change management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field
  • Several years of solid HSE experience
  • Deep understanding of chemical production processes and safety controls
  • Strong digital and IT competence
  • Experience applying modern HSE methodologies and staying up‑to‑date with evolving regulations
  • Experience in ensuring alignment with Quality/GMP, Global HSE and internal site HSE teams
  • Ability to train, coach and educate employees on HSE regulations and safety culture
  • Strong project‑management skills to support large‑scale site or construction projects
  • Leadership mindset, able to lead according to corporate leadership principles and foster entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management
  • Experience in Swiss/EU regulatory frameworks (optional but valuable)
  • Fluent in German and English.
