• Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of all HSE concepts and standards.
• Act as the main responsible person for HSE internally and externally.
• Develop and execute hazard and risk assessments (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP).
• Establish occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs; coordinate and document hygiene measurements.
• Define HSE requirements for site projects and ensure alignment with Quality/GMP, Global HSE, and local HSE teams.
• Cooperate with fire brigade, emergency services, and external authorities on emergency management.
• Create, review, and approve HSE-related procedures and documentation (SOPs, VORs, policies).
• Deliver HSE training and promote behavior‑based safety on site.
• Support sustainability initiatives and monitor regulatory developments.
• Build and develop a strong HSE organization and act as a role model in change management.

Site HSE Manager

Business Development Rep

• Uncover and pursue new business opportunities consistent with company’s capabilities (lead finding activities include routine scouting of trade journals, attending conferences, monitoring social media, visiting biotech incubators, exploring websites, etc.)
• Routinely meet face to face with new and existing customers to develop value propositions and action plans to secure manufacturing contracts, and increase the territory’s project count
• Distill customer requirements through multiple discussions, and qualify project leads before presenting to operational functions
• Maintain and utilize specified business systems to confidently forecast revenue and demonstrate a high level of account management and control
• Leverage internal team expertise to find solutions where others see problems
• Monitor competitive activity and trends within the industry, and continually adapt presentation and product offerings for contemporary image
• Remain partially engaged in ongoing projects, enough to help ensure with the Project Lead that deliverables, timelines, quality standards, and customer experience meet or exceed expectations.
• Ensure that quotes are prepared in a timely manner, with the appropriate information, and appear clear and professional.
• Attend trade shows, seminars, and other industry events, while actively engaging with those participants to represent company business interests and increase brand awareness (up to 40% travel)
• Support sales management by performing sales-related research and reporting as assigned
• Become an expert in Bachem’s approach to manufacturing drug substances for different phases of clinical trials and leverage customer visual tools and corporate materials for customer presentations
• Collate and feedback relevant market and account intelligence from the field to support on-going development of Bachem’s competitive intelligence and market positioning
• Maintain a database of all useful documents relevant to convincing drug manufacturers that Bachem is best suited to be their manufacturing partner. Disseminate this knowledge in timely and strategic manner.

Business Development Manager

Security Engineer

• Lead and support internal incident management including triage, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews
• Act as the primary interface with our external MDR team for alerts, investigations, and incident handling
• Onboard and integrate new log/data sources into security monitoring
• Monitor vulnerabilities and support patch management coordination
• Operate and maintain internal security applications such as endpoint detection, centralized monitoring (SIEM/SOAR), identity protection, access controls, and network security monitoring
• Develop and automate operational processes, playbooks, and response workflows
• Partner with IT, OT, and business teams to embed security into projects
• Contribute to security architecture and operational improvements
• Act as a security advocate to promote best practices and raise awareness across teams
• Design practical security solutions that balance usability, compliance, and risk reduction

QA Engineer

• Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical drug, manufacturing laws, regulations, and guidance, while assuring fulfillment of Bachem’s business objectives.
• Stay abreast of developing GMP and other regulatory requirements and pursue continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Lead, manage and develop the Quality Assurance teams at Torrance and Vista sites.
• Identify and develop high-performance and high-potential individuals, actively supporting the development of their careers at Bachem.
• Assure the Quality Assurance team is ready to support growth of business with a pipeline of needed skillsets and potential successors for managerial and leadership positions within the Bachem organization.
• Establish priorities and set goals for the Quality Assurance teams.
• Guide the directors and managers of the Quality Assurance teams and cultivate their ability to meet business needs and to fulfill quality and compliance requirements.
• Represent Bachem during customer visits, GMP audits, and regulatory agency inspections.
• Ensure sites are always well-prepared and staff is prepared to respond effectively to customer and visitor questions and requests.
• Provide leadership and guidance throughout the organization as a primary champion of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
• Take an active role in achieving expected financial performance, including management of costs and diligent use of resources, and engage in budgeting and cost accounting activities
• Contribute to negotiation of quality agreements with customers, suppliers, and service providers
• Ensure timely and effective responses to customers and regulatory requests.
• Take an active role in harmonizing and optimizing processes between the different Bachem sites, particularly between Torrance and Vista.
• Identify, champion, manage and participate in projects and initiatives to advance the Bachem organization.
• Represent Bachem at expert conferences and congresses, preparing and providing contributing presentations when required.
