About the role
- Lead the frontline trades that keep RNZN platforms mission‑ready.
- Work closely with the Production manager to coordinate Marine Electricians, Weapons Technicians and Radio/Radar Technicians to deliver safe, on‑time, on‑budget maintenance and upgrades under the MFSS contract.
- Set targets, allocate resources, and hold progress against the Integrated Master Schedule while upholding technical reports, HSE, and Trade Control.
- Turn plans and work instructions into sea‑worthy outcomes that matter to Defence—real ships, real schedules, real impact.
- Join a collaborative, safety‑first culture that backs decisive frontline leaders.
- Expect variety across power distribution, control systems, navigation, comms, and sensors—and the satisfaction of handing back vessels fit for task.
- Support your CPD, exposure to PLM/MRP toolsets, and clear pathways into broader production or programme leadership.
Requirements
- Technical vocational qualification/certificate in a related trade discipline.
- Approximately 5 years’ relevant technical/maintenance experience.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain NZSIS Confidential Vetting (CV).
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) and eligibility for FOUO/ITAR access.
- Proven people leadership skills
