About the role
- Own and grow the B&G Foods business with Costco, BJ’s Wholesale, and Target, including distribution, sales, margin, and trade spend management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers, replenishment teams, and merchandising stakeholders; build strong, trusted, long‑term relationships.
- Lead and manage broker partners to ensure alignment, executional excellence, and high accountability.
- Develop and execute annual and quarterly business plans, aligning customer needs with B&G strategic priorities.
- Lead joint business planning, category line reviews, and business reviews, using a compelling blend of insights, category storytelling, and strategic recommendations.
- Identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities including new items, assortment recommendations, and club‑specific pack architecture or innovation needs.
- Utilize POS, Nielsen/IRI, Costco CRX, Target Partners Online, and other customer systems to inform decision‑making and deliver data‑driven recommendations.
- Own account-level forecasting, partnering closely with the Customer Business Analyst and Supply Chain teams to ensure accuracy, service, and inventory efficiency.
- Manage trade budgets and promotional planning at the item level, ensuring ROI-driven spend effectiveness.
- Monitor category trends, competitive activity, and shopper dynamics to adjust strategies and maintain category leadership.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Planning, Finance and Supply Chain teams deliver cohesive execution and strong customer service levels.
- Lead communication of customer opportunities, risks, and insights to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of item setup, packaging changes, new product launches, pricing changes, and demand planning inputs.
- Proactively address and escalate supply issues, inventory challenges, or customer concerns to ensure strong service levels.
- Evaluate competitive products, pricing, promotions, and shelf/shopper merchandising strategies to develop insight‑driven recommendations.
- Conduct periodic comp shops, store walks, and club/channel reviews to identify gaps and opportunities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of account management experience in CPG, with direct responsibility for major customers preferred (Costco, BJ’s, Target or similar), required.
- Proven success in managing large customers, forecasting, trade spend, customer negotiations, and P&L components, required.
- Strong understanding of syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI/Circana), POS systems, and customer portals (Costco CRX, Target POL, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience managing broker networks, required.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and financial acumen.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and customer‑facing selling skills.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and enterprise trade/forecasting systems.
