Payroll

• Own full-cycle U.S. and international payroll processing across multiple clients, including international payrolls managed through EOR providers
• Serve as the internal payroll subject matter expert, partnering closely with HR and Accounting/Finance client leads to support payroll operations across the client portfolio
• Manage payroll platforms including Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, ADP, TriNet, Deel, or similar systems
• Ensure accurate processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
• Manage multi-state payroll compliance, tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s)
• Reconcile payroll reports, benefit invoices, and payroll-related GL accounts
• Partner with accounting teams to support month-end close activities, including payroll accruals and related reporting
• Support payroll-related equity compensation processing, including tax withholding and reporting for employee stock programs
• Support payroll setup and termination processing for new hires and departing employees, including prorated pay, final pay, and payroll deductions
• Coordinate payroll-related benefits deductions and ensure accurate employee and employer contribution processing for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans
• Maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and process improvements to support scalable payroll operations

Payroll Operations Manager

• Review, draft, and implement HR-related contracts, employment agreements, and policy documents
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international employment regulations; advise clients on compliance risks and solutions
• Support client payroll and benefits administration, including coordination with PEOs and vendors
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, final pay, and separation agreements
• Serve as a resource for employment law, benefits, and HR operations questions
• Oversee workers’ compensation, EPLI, and other employment-related insurance policies
• Conduct employee relations investigations and prepare documentation as needed
• Maintain and update employee handbooks, compliance notices, and HR records
• Coordinate reporting to government agencies (EEO, ACA, state registrations, etc.)
• Monitor contract renewals, policy deadlines, and compliance calendars
• Prepare HR reports and audit files for internal and client use
• Work on special compliance or operational projects as assigned
