About the role

  • Partner with C-Level executives as a key operational leader, driving innovation and advancing AXS’ engineering strategy.
  • Define the engineering roadmap, balancing long-term vision with near-term priorities across product development, infrastructure, security, and compliance.
  • Oversee engineering execution to ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable software products that meet productivity, growth, financial, and roadmap objectives.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end engineering processes, with clear KPIs to measure and drive excellence.
  • Build and empower high-performing global teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with Product, Ticketing Strategy, Sales, Operations, AEG, and other partners to ensure strong outcomes and alignment.
  • Drive operational effectiveness through best practices, disciplined execution, and process improvements that increase productivity and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Translate business goals into actionable engineering initiatives, ensuring technical direction is aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Provide clear communication and progress updates to the CTO and senior leadership.
  • Manage operating budgets and resources effectively, ensuring financial accountability and sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Proven Leadership: 14+ years in high-growth technology, including 11+ years leading large engineering teams with a focus on operational excellence and consumer-facing applications.
  • Consumer & E-Commerce Scale: Experience building and supporting complex, high-volume systems that deliver seamless user experiences under tight time constraints.
  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated success defining and delivering technology roadmaps, managing multiple projects end-to-end, and scaling engineering organizations.
  • Technical Depth: Strong background across modern frameworks (.NET, React, Node, Swift, Kotlin) and scalable cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
  • Performance & Security: Expertise with CDNs, caching, edge security, dynamic routing, CI/CD, test automation, and SRE practices to ensure high reliability.
  • Data & Real-Time Systems: Skilled in designing scalable data platforms, working with enterprise databases (Oracle, DynamoDB, Snowflake, etc.), and leveraging event-driven architectures for personalization and analytics.
  • Agile & Operational Excellence: Deep knowledge of Scrum/Kanban with a proven ability to optimize processes, define KPIs, and improve delivery at scale.
  • Global Team Leadership: Success leading distributed, diverse teams worldwide, building collaborative, innovative, and high-performance cultures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to partner with Product, Design, Marketing, and Operations to align engineering execution with customer and business goals.
  • Vendor & Outsourcing Management: Proven experience managing third-party vendors and outsourcing partnerships, ensuring quality, accountability, and alignment with strategic goals.
