About the role
- Assisting with the preparation, review, and maintenance of trade compliance documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinating export-related activities, including documentation, recordkeeping, and internal tracking.
- Supporting classification efforts, due diligence reviews, and compliance-related research.
- Monitoring and tracking regulatory requirements and assisting with updates to internal processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and business teams, to support ongoing compliance initiatives.
- Assisting with audits, risk assessments, and remediation efforts to address compliance gaps.
- Supporting training initiatives and maintaining compliance records and reporting tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or in a compliance-related role, with exposure to trade compliance or export controls.
- Working knowledge of U.S. export controls, sanctions, or international trade regulations (e.g., EAR, OFAC) preferred.
- Experience supporting legal or compliance teams within an established framework.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
