Prepare, review, and electronically file U.S. patent applications, responses, and other documents with the USPTO.
Assemble and manage complete submission packages for filing, including formal drawings, assignments, declarations, and information disclosure statements (IDS).
Work closely with patent attorneys, agents, and inventors to track deadlines, maintain dockets, and ensure timely responses to USPTO communications.
Maintain accurate records within internal IP portfolio management platforms (e.g., Anaqua, CPI, or similar systems).
Collaborate with international counsel on foreign filings, extensions, and patent family management.
Ensure all filings meet USPTO formalities and adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to streamline patent prosecution workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
7+ years of experience supporting patent prosecution in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Strong knowledge of USPTO filing procedures, forms, and PAIR systems.
Proficiency with IP docketing and management tools (e.g., FoundationIP, Anaqua, Pattsy, or similar).
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Open to working in an engagement-based role, seconded to clients on a temporary basis for approximately 6 months at a time
