• **THE ROLE**
• **We’re looking for an experienced **qualified Lawyer** to join Avantia on a freelance/ consultancy basis to spearhead the negotiation of investment-related NDAs, Engagement Letters, joinder agreements and non-reliance letters. You’ll manage every phase of the contract process - from initial review and negotiation, guided by client playbooks, all the way through to document execution.
• **Working closely with fellow global Avantia lawyers and paralegals, you'll dive into fast-paced, high-volume negotiations on pre-M&A contracts (mainly ELs and investment related NDAs), collaborating directly with counterparties while ensuring rapid turnaround times.
• This role is fully remote and allows you to practice law flexibly. Due to turnaround times agreed with our clients, we ask for a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, spread across Monday to Friday. However please note that as this is a freelance arrangement, we are unable to guarantee regular work.

Legal Consultant – Contract Negotiation, APAC

• Contribute to the growth strategy across new products, geographies, and client segments.
• Support the development of high-performing delivery teams of lawyers and paralegals.
• Manage and deepen client relationships with some of the world’s largest asset managers.
• Partner with Sales, Technology, and Product to expand Avantia’s market leading position.
• Define and execute the growth strategy for the LP Transfers business, including new products, services, and markets.

• Build senior level relationships with asset managers, investors, and intermediaries, positioning Avantia as the go-to partner for LP transfers.
• Drive business development efforts, supporting Sales with propositions, pitches, and market positioning.
• Contribute to thought leadership in LP transfers, representing Avantia at industry events and helping to build market presence.
• Support the growth and development of high-performing teams, including recruiting and developing lawyers and paralegals.
• Drive productivity and performance through clear metrics, accountability and engagement.
• Champion the Avantia values of building the future, championing excellence and empowering our people.
• Senior client relationship lead for all Funds clients, responsible for onboarding, growing and retaining client accounts.
• Ensure client services are delivered consistently and efficiently with strong client satisfaction.
• Contribute to operational effectiveness by working with the COO and CTO to enhance productivity, automation, and the use of our proprietary AI platform AVA.
• Collaborate with the Commercial team on pricing models, forecasts, and budgets, supporting efforts to strengthen commercial performance.
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing on client propositions, pitches, and market positioning.
• Partner with our Product and Technology teams to optimise delivery and design and launch new services.
• Work alongside executive leadership to support firm wide strategy, growth, and leadership priorities.
• As a director, you will collaborate with senior leadership to execute firm-wide strategy and foster strong alliances with key internal and external partners.

Director, Funds, LP Transfers

• Set and execute the growth strategy for the LP Transfers service line, including new products, services, markets and client segments
• Full P&L accountability with focus on sustainable revenue growth and profitability
• Manage and deepen senior client relationships with asset managers; lead onboarding, growth and retention of client accounts
• Support business development and market positioning; work with Sales on propositions, pitches and thought leadership
• Lead, recruit and develop high-performing delivery teams of lawyers, paralegals and consultants; drive productivity and performance metrics
• Collaborate with CTO, COO and Product teams to enhance automation, productivity and use of AVA AI platform
• Partner with Commercial team on pricing models, forecasts and budgets to strengthen commercial performance
• Represent Avantia at industry events and contribute to market leadership in LP transfers
• Report to the COO and work closely with VP Sales, CTO, CEO and executive leadership; direct reports include delivery lawyers and paralegals
• Ensure service delivery within SLAs and drive operational excellence (reduced time-to-revenue, team scaling)

Compliance

• Manage Transaction and Investment Compliance for leading asset managers
• Act as direct day-to-day contact for clients advising on compliance risk for live transactions and existing investments
• Review deal structures and investigate corporate ownership and funds flow to identify red flags including AML, sanctions and reputational risk
• Assess key risk factors in corporate and private equity deal structures
• Work closely with the Head of Investment Compliance and an international team of lawyers, paralegals and analysts
• High levels of client contact and potential team management and leadership responsibilities
• Opportunity to contribute to LegalTech initiatives and develop new service lines
