About the role
- Confidently develop and implement strategies to improve the returns and risk management of the multi asset funds, to improve client returns and researcher ratings
- Provide investment recommendations, ensuring they’re effectively implemented and assist in oversight of the multi-asset team
- Comfortable presenting to investment committees and clients to gain support for our multi-asset portfolios and the broader investment capabilities of Australian ethical
- Drive the active asset allocation process, including implementation and with a focus on process enhancement to generate performance and improve client outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Multi-Asset to implement the investment philosophy and approach in building investment capabilities
- Work collaboratively with AE investment teams to manage portfolios with a focus on commercial outcomes
- Work with the Investment Leadership team, including the CIO, to assist in strategic projects to develop Australian Ethical’s investment management capacity and capabilities as relevant
- Continual improvement of communication materials across internal teams, Investment Committees, the Board, as well as external clients and stakeholders
- Take a leading role in strategy research and implementation as required across public markets
- In collaboration with Sales & Marketing functions, represent the investment team as appropriate to clients, planners and ratings agencies/research houses
- Inform and educate the wider team on portfolio issues
- Recommend and stress test portfolio positioning decisions and the application/development of appropriate risk management tools to assess appropriateness
- Enhancement of the Portfolio Design and modelling processes
Requirements
- 10+ years’ direct investment analysis / strategy experience
- Portfolio management / similar experience in Multi Asset including Fixed Income / Equities / Hedge Funds
- Demonstrated success driving active asset allocation, generating positive performance while managing risk
- Proven track record working collaboratively with sales and marketing, research houses and ratings agencies
- Experience presenting to clients, investment committees and executives
- Outstanding knowledge of broader economic and financial market developments, industry trends and research, with the ability to distil this information and communicate it to others
- Demonstrated track record working collaboratively and contributing toward a high performing investment team
- Ethical / Impact investment experience preferred
- Relevant qualifications – CFA and / or PhD will be highly regarded
