About the role

  • Drive the ML and AI strategy for Auror, focusing on reducing retail crime.
  • Lead the Data Science organization and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams.
  • Define and deliver Auror’s 3-year AI & ML strategy, ensuring customer value, growth, and leadership in responsible AI.
  • Lead the roadmap for embedding AI into the platform, driving measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee research and development in machine learning, generative AI, and related fields.
  • Establish guardrails for responsible AI and monitor AI-related risks.
  • Champion AI adoption across the organization through raising literacy and building confidence.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading AI/ML functions, with a proven track record of shaping and executing enterprise-level AI strategy.
  • Demonstrated success deploying large-scale ML systems into production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in modern ML techniques, frameworks, and tooling, with the ability to guide teams using Python.
  • Deep experience with cloud-based ML ecosystems and MLOps practices, including model lifecycle management.
  • A builder at heart, growing systems, strategies, and high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communicator able to influence across teams and contribute confidently at Board level.
  • Confidence as the expert voice in the room, able to challenge assumptions and guide AI adoption.
  • Visionary mindset anticipating emerging AI trends and leveraging them responsibly and commercially.
