About the role

  • The Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for working with the internal team to deliver products to the customer on time, meeting specifications, and within program targets.
  • Drive issue resolution internally, externally, and escalate areas of concern.
  • Lead product development and provide guidance to junior engineers and lead the team to meet all deliverables.
  • Work with the team to meet company and personal goals and objectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers as assigned to instruct and guide their understanding of our products and processes.
  • Track, address, and support closure of product issues, and document the progress, and resolutions of product issues, and engage support of other disciplines, as necessary.
  • Escalate issues that become critical, lack support, and affect program profitability.
  • Provide support development and maintenance of pertinent documentation.
  • Develop and create DFMEA, DVP&R, and any additional pertinent Engineering documentation.
  • Ensure living documentation is maintained, completion of GDLS deliverables is completed on schedule and are accurate.
  • Ensure progress towards product approvals, including validation and dimensional.
  • Initiate and support Engineering Change Control processes and create and manage engineering BOM’s in corporate systems.
  • Initiate Engineering Change process that are required for external or internal changes.
  • Work with the Auria Engineering team to ensure accuracy of system and timing implementation of changes, resolve issues through workflow and approval process of Engineering Changes.
  • Participate in customer and internal meeting to progress product development.
  • Provide guidance and support design requirements as needed to ensure the design direction of products.
  • Ensure that lessons learned, and best practices are being adhered to by team, and clear communicate issues and necessary actions are taking place.
  • Provide support for customer meetings at customer locations or Auria locations as required.
  • Conduct tool and process trials, evaluations and review and ensure implementation corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support plants to address product or process concerns, and the selection of special characteristics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 60 months of experience in product engineering or related.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to North American Plants.
