About the role
- Assist attorneys with probate and trust administration matters by preparing and filing documents and helping move estates and trusts through the administration process from opening through completion
- Prepare court filings, correspondence, and documentation related to probate estate and trust administration
- Assist with preparation of real estate documents associated with probate estates and trust administration matters
- Maintain organized case files and electronic document systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient retrieval of information
- Track deadlines and filing requirements to ensure timely completion of court filings and administration tasks
- Coordinate communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and other outside professionals involved in estate and trust administration matters
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members to support the efficient progression of matters from opening through completion
- Provide support to the estate planning team when needed, including assisting with preparation of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience
- Prior paralegal experience preferred, particularly in probate, trust administration, or estate planning
- Working knowledge of probate procedures and estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
