About the role

  • Strategic partner to the global management team and other stakeholders regarding co-determination rights
  • Build and maintain a trusting and constructive working relationship; first point of contact for local works councils, central works council (Gesamtbetriebsrat, GBR) and the Economic Committee (Wirtschaftsausschuss, WiA)
  • Develop and implement a company-wide labour relations strategy for sustainable and constructive cooperation with employee representative bodies
  • Lead negotiations with representative bodies on works agreements, balance of interests agreements and social plans
  • Develop viable, forward-looking solutions taking into account economic, cultural and labour law frameworks
  • Translate legal requirements into executable processes within a global corporate structure
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., mandatory hearings pursuant to § 102 BetrVG)
  • Develop standards, guidelines and best practices for cooperation with employee representatives
  • Train managers, HR and other stakeholders and manage conflicts to ensure fair collaboration

Requirements

  • Degree in law, business law, business administration with a focus on HR or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in labour law, with a focus on collective labour law
  • Experience negotiating with works councils and trade unions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of negotiating ability, assertiveness and diplomatic skill
  • Analytical and strategic thinking ability
  • Excellent German and English skills
