About the role
- Configure SAP PaPM components, including data models, allocation logic, and calculation rules.
- Design and implement financial models, allocation processes, and performance management reports.
- Integrate PaPM with BW/4HANA SDA/Views and SAP HANA for seamless data flow and reporting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable PaPM solutions.
- Conduct system testing, performance tuning, and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Provide technical and functional support during implementation and post-go-live phases.
- Plan and execute comprehensive validations across lower environments (DEV/QA/UAT) for the SAP PaPM upgrade.
- Investigate and remediate any upgrade-related issues discovered in lower environments; coordinate with SAP Support (e.g., OSS notes/service desk) as needed to resolve defects.
- Prepare detailed test scripts covering PaPM data models, ETL/replication, BW process chains, queries, reports, authorizations, and scheduling.
- Record and track test execution and defects in the tool (e.g., HP ALM), ensuring prompt updates, reproducible steps, evidence, and closure notes.
- Lead or contribute to cutover rehearsals, performance/regression tests, and data reconciliations.
- Provide clear go/no-go input based on test outcomes and documented risk assessments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP PaPM (Profitability and Performance Management).
- Strong knowledge of BW/4HANA SDA/Views and SAP HANA architecture.
- Proven ability to configure and optimize SAP PaPM components (data models, allocations, calculations).
- Experience designing and configuring financial models, allocation logic, and performance reports.
- Demonstrated experience leading validation/test cycles for SAP upgrades or migrations, including defect triage and SAP Support engagement.
- Hands-on experience with ALM tools (e.g., HP ALM, Jira/Xray) for test script management, execution tracking, and defect lifecycle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Preferred: Understanding of financial processes and cost allocation methodologies.
