About the role
- Assist in the preparation of nuclear plant early site layout concept designs
- Support civil/structural engineers in design and analysis of building systems
- Apply building code requirements and applicable standards
- Perform basic calculations, design self-checks, and engineering evaluations under supervision
- Coordinate with architects and other engineers to ensure work is completed to time and within budget
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions
- Assist with responding to internal and external customer requests for information and proposals
- Support direction of Designers preparing and revising 3D models and drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, or similar BIM tools
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company nuclear quality management system procedures
- Support all activities for the Design Integration team, including site visits as required
- Work under the guidance of licensed engineers to develop competencies required for P.Eng. licensure
- Actively pursue technical learning, code knowledge, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Eligibility for eventual licensing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or professional licence application already in progress
- 2–4 years of relevant junior level mentored engineering experience in building or architectural engineering
- Proficiency or working knowledge of modern digital design tools and techniques
- Basic understanding of BIM workflows and construction documents
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Good organizational and time‑management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
