About the role
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and leader/mentor for clients, engineers, and technicians
- Ensure technological watch and share new trends and discoveries
- Participate in high-level decisions related to technology choices and process optimization
- Prepare and supervise plans, specifications, mechanical and process details
- Develop and validate mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Supervise the drafting of technical specifications for pre-purchase and construction
- Analyze or supervise the analysis of bids and participate in design and risk reviews
- Provide technical support to engineers and technicians during project execution
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Excellent command of French
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Expertise in aluminium smelters (Electrolysis, Carbon, Casting)
- Knowledge of various technologies (AP, EGA, Elysis, etc.)
- Field experience (construction and/or operations) considered an asset
- Knowledge of project execution stages (e.g., FEL according to AACE)
- Knowledge of simulation software (Flexsim, Arena, etc.) considered an asset
