About the role

  • Preparing, designing, modifying, coordinating, and/or reviewing project elements
  • Reviewing existing buildings prior to project design and performing site take offs
  • Developing designs and technical specifications for various systems
  • Assisting others in the office with several projects in a knowledge sharing atmosphere
  • Coordinating system requirements with various departments
  • Developing feasibility studies and technical reports
  • Preparing electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or Microstation; sketching, and computer modeling
  • Following client-driven file management system for document storage
  • Preparing engineering deliverables in accordance with quality assurance programs and project requirements
  • Applying relevant codes & standards and regulatory requirements
  • Interfacing with engineering teams throughout the lifecycle of the design project

Requirements

  • College diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in mechanical design and drafting
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Micro Station, NavisWorks Freedom and SolidWorks
  • Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently
  • ASME Code knowledge considered an asset
