About the role
- Support the planning and execution of external communications campaigns across UK & Ireland
- Draft and edit press releases and other external communications materials to create newsworthy content
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, trade media, and key external stakeholders to secure positive coverage
- Responsible for media monitoring platform, including analysis of media coverage and preparation of regular reports for senior stakeholders
- Ownership of media distribution lists & platforms to ensure effective outreach and engagement
Requirements
- Proven experience in external communications, ideally within a corporate or agency environment
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and accurate content
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with media and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and reporting processes
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and integrated campaigns
- Knowledge of the engineering, infrastructure, or professional services sector is desirable but not essential
