About the role
- Coordinate engineering with other disciplines (layout, mechanical, piping, electrical)
- Develop engineering, 3D design and drawing inputs from preliminary concepts
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare reports for foundations and structures
- Review concrete rebar, steel connection design and shop drawings
- Prepare concrete, rebar and steel material take-off estimates
- Provide technical assistance to construction
- Attend meetings, take minutes and write reports
Requirements
- BS or MS in Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of experience
- Project experience in heavy industrial sectors (Mining, Oil & Gas, Acid Plant, Fertilizer Plant)
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in Quebec or Ontario
- Experience in design and analysis of structural concrete and structural steel
- Familiarity with CSA, CISC, NBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE and IBC standards and codes
- Experience using Structural Design and Analysis tools (STAADPro, RISA3D, SAP2000)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French
