About the role

  • safeguard our organization’s assets, data, and operations
  • identifying vulnerabilities
  • implementing protective measures
  • ensuring compliance with federal and corporate security policies and regulations
  • develop and support implementation of security plans, procedures, and governing documents as applicable
  • interpreting and applying Department of Energy (DOE) Orders and Directives
  • develops and implements security plans, procedures, and training in accordance with applicable security requirements
  • provides technical editing of documents and live training presentations
  • supports security assessments, as required or directed by department management
  • serves as point-of-contact for e-FOCI system and notifying NNSA/DOE via the system of any changes that could affect the company’s foreign ownership, control or influence (FOCI) status
  • administers and monitors physical access control operations for multiple office locations
  • maintains the personnel security database, ensure employee compliance with mandatory training requirements, and administers the processing of security clearances for company personnel
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Without a degree, requires a high school diploma or equivalent with six (6) years of personnel security experience
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience
  • Safeguards and Security experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Clear, articulate, and professional communication skills across all formats
  • Ability to comprehend and implement complex government and corporate security requirements
  • Skilled in handling several document review and revision cycles simultaneously
  • Skilled at prioritizing tasks, delivering on time, and ensuring accuracy through careful attention to detail
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional atmosphere built on ethical conduct, transparency, and a deep respect for diverse perspectives
