About the role
- Engineering design and development in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering
- Utilize knowledge of mechanical design and nuclear power plant regulations to fulfill engineering duties.
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
- Address and troubleshoot engineering issues as they arise
- Prepare and seal necessary engineering documents in compliance with Ontario regulations
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machines, automation equipment and automated-tooling design, and/or in Equipment Engineering
- Knowledge in pumps, fans, motors, valves, heat exchanges, steam generators, pressure vessels, etc.
- Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities
- Experience working in or performing design work for a nuclear facility licensed in Canada or a nuclear reactor licensed outside Canada
- Experience working on Nuclear ECC process
- Qualification in the last five (5) years as a Specialized Professional Engineer to ASME Section III
- Registered Professional Engineer in a Province of Ontario, qualified to seal mechanical and chemical engineering documents
- Solid understanding of process systems, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection and fundamentals of machine component design
- Solid understanding and experience with equipment sizing, selection, and troubleshooting of issues
- Knowledge of/experience using nuclear pressure boundary Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Sections III
- Working knowledge of/experience with the ASME Section III, CSA B51 standard, ANSI B31.1 codes, ASME Section VIII and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems
- Knowledge of seismic and environmental qualification methods and process
- Specific knowledge and experience related to pressure vessels, valves, ventilation systems, as applicable to nuclear power stations
- Presentation skills and public speaking abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willing to travel to and potentially work at Project sites to meet corporate needs
