About the role
- Management and QA of archaeological fieldwork and subcontractors
- Support and deliver Archaeological Clerk of Works on major infrastructure projects
- Define and develop scope, programme, and design of heritage works
- Deliver archaeological mitigation and research strategies and public outreach
- Provide technical advice to clients and internal teams
- Prepare EIA screening, environmental statements, heritage statements, desk-based assessments, and consent applications
- Assess heritage constraints to influence design development
- Deliver medium-to-large projects on time and budget
- Consultation and liaison with heritage stakeholders and client project teams
- Production of fee proposals and technical input on tenders
Requirements
- Strong background in UK historic environment and archaeological fieldwork
- Relevant Masters level or higher in archaeology or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of planning process (including EIA) and environmental/heritage legislation
- Knowledge of consenting process for listed buildings and scheduled monuments
- Willingness to work across the UK and opportunity to work internationally
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Health and Safety awareness and experience on archaeological projects
- Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) at Associate level or above
- Experience in commercial consultancy environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Technical or specialist subject expertise (periods, themes, environmental or post-excavation specialisms and outreach)
