About the role

  • Senior/Principal role in Water Management Consultancy at AtkinsRéalis supporting resilient and sustainable water supplies.
  • Work on water resource planning and option appraisal, delivering WRMPs, Drought Plans, WINEP commitments and Strategic Resource Options (SROs).
  • Manage projects and programmes: resources, budgets, programmes and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Work closely with technical specialists across the business to ensure right people on projects.
  • Identify and support work-winning opportunities; liaise with Framework Managers and Client Directors; manage tenders in accordance with business procedures.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships, strengthen AtkinsRéalis’ reputation and support future opportunities.
  • Provide technical leadership, project governance, risk management and contract administration across project lifecycles.
  • Engage in personal development planning and benefit from inclusive, collaborative team culture.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in the UK water industry and demonstrable experience of leading water resource projects (WRMPs, Drought Plans, WINEP, SROs).
  • Client-facing experience; comfortable leading projects and managing day-to-day client relationships.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and develop work-winning opportunities.
  • Experience running multiple projects simultaneously, including project management, contract administration, project finances and financial reporting.
  • Experience following project governance procedures and ensuring business policies are followed.
  • Ability to manage risk through the project life cycle, including negotiation and administration of change control in accordance with the contract.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage in technical discussions with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure common understanding of requirements, scope, programme, costs, constraints, risk and interfaces.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; flexible approach, ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification, preferably in environmental science or engineering.
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or CIWEM) advantageous.
  • This role may require security clearance and may require proof of UK residency of 5 years or longer.
