About the role

  • Lead the full lifecycle of business development, from identifying and qualifying opportunities to shaping win strategies
  • Create solutions-based capture plans that align with customer needs and maximize win probability
  • Oversee cross-functional teams through the pursuit lifecycle, managing proposal development, technical volumes, staffing strategies, and executive presentations
  • Conduct after-action reviews to refine techniques and improve future outcomes
  • Build and expand customer relationships through strategic account planning, call plans, and market engagement
  • Support pipeline growth by attending industry events, generating leads, and maintaining accurate CRM records
  • Refine win strategies, build key relationships, and collaborate across leadership to deliver impactful results

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years' experience or equivalent (PhD and 5 years or master's and 8 years)
  • Proven success in full lifecycle business development and capture management
  • Experience with federal agencies and winning new business with DOD (DHA, DARPA, DTRA, etc.) and DHHS highly preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through opportunity identification, strategy development, and proposal execution
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, including competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and price-to-win methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build customer relationships and deliver executive presentations
  • Familiarity with federal contracting or life sciences services preferred
  • Proficiency with CRM tools
  • Experience attending industry events to support pipeline growth and market positioning
