About the role

  • Sales employees concentrate on acquiring new business and conducting customer visits in the field
  • When not in the field, collaborate with team from assigned office location, if available
  • Use in-depth networking knowledge to design and implement solutions for clients as part of advanced infrastructure team
  • Responsible for consulting project activities from client identification through final invoicing
  • Fulfill billable consulting service projects and act as subject matter expert within a discipline
  • Lead engagement teams or serve as sole consulting resource on projects
  • Technical responsibilities: problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and design, implementation, testing, client training and deployment
  • Mentor or coach other consultants and create recommendations; implement new methods, techniques and procedures
  • Participate in National Practice operations, process improvement and training calls; stay current with industry trends
  • Take accountability for professional development and share knowledge with others

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the planning, design and implementation of complex networks
  • 8+ years of related sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Industry Certifications: CCIE or proven equivalent experience with CCNA, CCNP, CISSP or PMP
  • Strong leadership, documentation and project management skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate complex networking engagements for very large environments
  • Ability to travel for engagement requirements
  • Proven ethics, trustworthiness, accountability and reliability; self-directed and collaborative
  • Accomplished at developing Visio designs/diagrams and producing cohesive deliverables (samples requested)
  • Thorough understanding of internetworking technologies; IPv4 and IPv6 experience
  • WAN and preferably iWAN expertise (MPLS, Private Line, Hybrid WAN, Internet Complex, Ethernet, Internet VPN, DWDM, wireless)
  • MPLS integration experience including QoS, MPLS IP routing and migration planning
  • LAN expertise including equipment selection, sizing, data center core/distribution/segmentation and wireless
  • Virtualization/path segmentation (GRE, VRF-Lite, L3VPNs, L2VPNs)
  • IP routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, M-BGP, EIGRP; NAT, DNS/DHCP, address summarization knowledge
  • Data center core network design and deployment experience; load balancing, DNS/DHCP, NAT, proxies
  • Experience with network separation/segmentation (VLAN, VRF) and network virtualization
  • Experience with Cisco ACI SDN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco, Nortel, Juniper, Extreme Networks features and configurations
  • Firewall design and implementation experience (Cisco ASA, CheckPoint, Fortinet)
  • Load-balancing/F5 experience a plus
  • Knowledge/experience with SDN, Juniper, Velocloud, VMware/Virtualization, and/or IoT is a plus
