About the role
- Responsible for software development budgets, deadlines, and quality
- Assigns tasks appropriately and manages progress based on an understanding of the aptitude of group members
- Set and evaluate group members and short-term individual goals based on group goals, and provide medium- to long-term training and guidance
- Solves and improves issues related to software development in cooperation with other groups
- Manage outsourcing to software vendors
- Formulate and execute plans for strategic selection and expansion of the scope of in-house software development
- Improve development efficiency by improving development processes, maintaining simulators, introducing tools, etc.
- Work closely with superiors and the HR group to take responsibility for the group's recruiting activities
- Responsible for managing labor hours
Requirements
- 7+ years of embedded software development experience, including defining requirements, writing specifications, architectural design, coding, and testing
- 3+ years of experience as a software development team leader or manager
- Experience working with software vendors
- A mindset that enjoys a variety of challenges in a developing organization
- A broad perspective and the ability to prioritize issues appropriately
- Native Japanese or JLPT N1 level or equivalent
- English proficiency: TOEIC score of 700 or above or equivalent
- Experience coordinating requirements with customers and other teams
- Knowledge or experience in Agile development
- Basic knowledge or experience in model-based development
- Experience in developing or using simulators
- Experience in mentoring young and mid-level engineers
- Technical communication and presentation skills
- Business communication skills with English speakers.
