About the role

  • Provide frontline support services including but not limited to general customer service, equipment setup and breakdown for all events held.
  • Communicate and enforce event policies and operating procedures to effectively express expectations to customers using the facility.
  • Provide a welcoming environment and ensure that all client’s event expectations are met in a positive manner.
  • Respond to a variety of client and attendee inquiries, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Refresh reservation spaces between events including vacuuming, wiping down furniture and emptying trash.
  • Provide event support during events in ASI facilities including check-in, line management, signage, etc.
  • Ensure the equipment inventory storage areas are clean, well-maintained, and organized.
  • Assist with audio/visual setup and breakdown, including projectors, webcams, and power cables.
  • Enforce rules and safety regulations regarding events using ASI facilities.

Requirements

  • American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Administering Emergency Oxygen certification.
  • Experience working in event support, recreation, or similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain professional work conduct.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and make recommendations.
  • Ability to adhere to work rules, follow directions, use time effectively and work productively without close supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population and campus community.
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation using word processing, spreadsheet and other computer applications in use.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background screening as an offer of employment is contingent on background clearance.

  • Work Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week; work hours include early mornings, late nights, and weekends; shifts based on operational need of the organization.
  • Essential service and willingness to work dynamic weekly shifts including weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts required.
  • Mandatory department-wide and position-specific training attendance required.
