About the role

  • Generate revenue growth through sale of AspenTech software solutions and professional services.
  • Customer-facing role using consultative skills to position AspenTech solutions and renew/grow business.
  • Manage assigned accounts and opportunities, coordinating with marketing, pre-sales engineering, and development.
  • Achieve assigned quarterly/annual sales quota and maintain pipeline for licenses and services.
  • Manage customer relations through Quarterly Customer Business Reviews and regular customer visits.
  • Coordinate functional groups to develop and present customer financial benefit assessments.
  • Gather market information, analyze competition and market trends, and work cross-functionally.
  • Develop clear account strategy and perform white-space analysis; own Deal Model process for assigned clients.
  • Manage day-to-day sales process, proposals, contracts, pricing approvals, and CRM/time management inputs.
  • May require 50%+ travel per year.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years demonstrated success in direct sales of software solutions.
  • A University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Chemical Engineering or relevant technical degree a plus.
  • Clear track record of closing large and complex sales opportunities.
  • Successful track record selling industrial software to the global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate customer benefits through financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated success at establishing and cultivating "C" level consultative relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Self-discipline and motivation to produce results.
  • Personal computer literacy including Excel, Powerpoint and CRM tools.
  • May require 50%+ travel per calendar year, including overnight travel.
