About the role

  • Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).
  • Ensure revenue is stated consistently across all software platforms and reconcile the platforms to each other.
  • Coordinate with accounts receivable & reporting teams to resolve revenue-related issues and provide guidance on revenue recognition matters.
  • Perform revenue analyses and reconcile revenue-related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and analyze costs, including direct labor costs and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Coordinate with accounts payable & reporting teams to resolve cost-related issues.
  • Prepare cost reports and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Perform cost analyses and reconcile cost-related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenue and cost-related information.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including analysis of revenue and cost trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting related to revenue and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies related to revenue recognition and cost accounting.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard revenue and control costs.
  • Support internal and external audits related to revenue and cost accounting, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proven track record of success with oral and written communication.
  • Proven track record of success in paying attention to detail.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
