About the role

  • Act as the primary liaison between external customers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage and maintain strong customer relationships and serve as the voice of the customer
  • Accurate order entry, contract application, and price confirmation management
  • Solicit customer orders based on trends and inventory
  • Coordinate with mill schedulers, transportation, sales and supply chain to meet customer expectations
  • Create and foster positive customer relationships through daily/weekly interaction and professional service
  • Acquire and maintain customer insight/information and communicate to the business
  • Resolve customer incidents and track relationships using the Incident Management Process
  • Track and communicate short-term changes in customer demand and escalate as appropriate
  • Carry out activities with reliability, integrity, compliance, and in a safe, environmentally responsible manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years customer service experience
  • Customer service experience including order entry and customer relationship management (preferred)
  • SAP, Microsoft GP or other ERP software working knowledge (preferred)
  • Logistics and/or Transportation experience (preferred)
  • Ability to delve into details and problem solve
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to deliver accurate results efficiently
  • Willingness to lead by example, drive team engagement and influence others positively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual; Spanish preferred but not necessary
  • Reliability, integrity, compliance, and commitment to safety and environmental responsibility
