About the role

  • Collaborate with local teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support water and wastewater projects through planning, design, and construction phases
  • Oversee the development of design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis quality health and safety standards
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Participate in client meetings
  • Coordinate project timelines and budgets
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering and design staff
  • Provide planning and design support for stormwater management, flood mitigation, green infrastructure, sewer systems, and related needs
  • Prepare and review design calculations and drawings
  • Engage with engineers from other disciplines to integrate stormwater, transportation, utility, and geotechnical concepts into projects
  • Assist in identifying cost-effective and environmentally sound stormwater solutions
  • Promote innovative technologies and research emerging practices to improve efficiency in assignments
  • Travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, or construction oversight based on project needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering with focus on stormwater management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field of study
  • NY PE license or ability to obtain one via reciprocity shortly after joining Arcadis
  • 10 years of relevant water/wastewater experience is preferred.
  • Master of Science/Engineering in Civil, Environmental Engineering or a related field of study is preferred.
  • Experience in design or consulting engineering or Municipal work environment is preferred.
  • Project leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring is preferred.
  • Client management experience, including preparation and development of proposals and client relationship building is preferred.
  • Experience/training with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional association(s) is preferred.
