About the role

  • Undertake electrical design for railway MEP and E&P systems
  • Undertake technical tasks in accordance with quality, safety and engineering management procedures
  • Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings
  • Delivery of technical packages including:
  • - Building Services electrical designs
  • - Trackside fixed plant designs
  • - Power supply and distribution systems
  • - Cable management systems
  • - Lighting and lighting control
  • - Earthing and bonding designs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical design within a consultancy environment
  • Good understanding of UK rail standards and design assurance processes, particularly Network Rail requirements
  • Competent user of office IT and design software tools, including:
  • - Amtech / Trimble for electrical calculations
  • - Dialux for lighting design
  • - Working knowledge of MicroStation and ProjectWise
