About the role

  • Lead and deliver large-scale engineering projects for Life Sciences clients from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, controls).
  • Manage project financials, schedules, and risk; ensure projects are delivered to quality, time, and budget targets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as the principal point of contact for technical and commercial matters.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants/contractors, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, GMP requirements, HSE standards, and Arcadis policies.
  • Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth within the Life Sciences market.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Engineering Project Manager delivering Life Sciences projects (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device manufacturing).
  • Strong technical background in engineering disciplines relevant to Life Sciences facilities (process, utilities, HVAC, E& I, controls).
  • Demonstrated experience with GMP, cleanroom design, validation support, and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project budgets and contracts.
  • Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) desirable.
  • Degree in Engineering, Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
