About the role

  • Deliver technical assignments of increasing complexity within a defined scope, working under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Support structural analysis and design for a variety of civil and marine infrastructure projects, including ports and waterfront structures
  • Perform engineering investigations, inspections, and analytical studies to develop practical, reliable design solutions that consider durability, constructability, and performance in challenging marine and coastal environments
  • Prepare clear and accurate technical documentation and reports that comply with Arcadis procedures and relevant codes and standards
  • Complete assigned tasks to meet project scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets
  • Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Team Leads, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and successful delivery
  • Assist in resolving technical challenges and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering solutions
  • Review completed work for technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required); Master’s in Structural, Civil, or Marine Engineering strongly preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation required or actively pursuing; chartered/PE status is an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant structural engineering experience, with exposure to civil and marine infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience in structural analysis and design for ports, waterfronts, or coastal structures
  • Proficiency with industry-standard structural software such as SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE
  • Strong CAD skills (advanced 2D); experience with 3D modelling or Revit is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of material performance and durability in aggressive coastal and marine environments, and knowledge of applicable national codes and standards
  • Proven ability to prepare clear, accurate technical reports and engineering documentation in compliance with firm procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with investigations, inspections, and analytical studies to inform design decisions; MATLAB programming is a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication, strong teamwork and stakeholder coordination skills, time management, and the ability to work independently while providing informal guidance to junior staff.
