About the role
- Assist in the preparation of geometric highway and street designs, including horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, typical sections, and cross sections tailored to TDOT standards.
- Contribute to drainage design efforts involving hydrology and hydraulic analysis relevant to roadway projects.
- Help develop complete roadway corridor models and construction plan sets in compliance with TDOT policies and guidelines.
- Calculate and tabulate material quantities and generate construction estimates.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure all designs meet AASHTO, MUTCD, and TDOT design criteria.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field
- EIT Certification
- Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or similar civil design software is preferred.
- Basic understanding of geometric design principles, traffic operations, and relevant standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, TDOT specifications).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
