About the role
- Provide legal and legal-strategic advice to colleagues on legal matters related to (large-scale) project business in civil construction, architects' and engineers' law, and preferably public procurement law
- Conduct comprehensive legal review of project-related correspondence and prepare legal opinions, statements and demand letters based on sound legal expertise
- Manage court and out-of-court proceedings, including commissioning, coordinating and reviewing external counsel or law firms
- Initiate and implement necessary measures to enforce claims out of court in complex cases of significant economic and strategic importance to the company
- Active legal project management, including negotiating and providing legal support for extensive project-related contractual frameworks as well as contract reviews and drafting
Requirements
- Successfully completed legal studies (First and Second State Examinations)
- Relevant professional experience as a lawyer in construction, engineering and architects' law or as in-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwalt/Syndikusrechtsanwältin) in the legal department of a comparable corporate group, at least 5–7 years
- Relevant experience in international project business or willingness and motivation to develop this further
- Good technical and commercial understanding
- Goal-oriented, independent working style as well as team-oriented thinking and action
- Confident demeanor, strong communication skills and fluent German and English skills (business fluent)
