About the role

  • Oversee and prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and cost estimates for electrical systems including low and medium voltage power distribution and motor control centres
  • Prepare electrical condition assessments including the development of technical memoranda/ reports and capital cost estimates
  • Provide key input into the development of Process Control Narratives, P&ID drawings, operations and maintenance manuals and training materials
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and business development
  • Prepare electrical design calculations during preliminary and detailed design
  • Provide support during construction including responding to RFIs, review shop drawings, conduct site inspections and participate in system testing
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines with our multi-disciplined project teams

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in the design of electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities
  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or recognized equivalent. Masters degree would be an asset.
  • Successful candidate must have P. Eng. designation, in good standing.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD systems including AutoCAD and MicroStation, and the REVIT modeling system.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code and applicable NFPA standards are required.
