About the role

  • Arcadis Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team seeking Process Mechanical Engineer / Design Manager with 7+ years of consulting engineering experience.
  • Support growth and development of the business through industrial water and wastewater engineering, client services, and project management.
  • Accountable and responsible for Project Management of water and wastewater consulting and design projects.
  • Coordinate project execution across various disciplines; provide leadership, direction, and coaching to project team members.
  • Make decisions aligned with organizational and functional strategies and objectives; deliver guidance and provide meaningful feedback to support career development.
  • Contribute to business development, technology, and project delivery; develop relationships with strategic clients.
  • Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects and apply processes/technologies for various treatment methods.
  • Receive technical mentoring from senior process engineer or SME; delegate calculations/drawings to junior staff; collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Support implementation of projects from study through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems.
  • Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of industrial wastewater experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration in one or more states.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong competitor knowledge and focus.
  • Can-do approach; demonstrated team player and builder.
  • Expert critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution, adaptability/flexibility.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Proven expertise in project management and design delivery.
  • Proficiency in capital cost estimation, operation and maintenance cost estimation, project scheduling and work planning.
  • Strong understanding of industrial wastewater treatment systems and technologies (physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, crystallization).
