About the role
- Develop detailed design solutions based on product requirements
- Present proposed solutions to design engineers and manufacturing engineers
- Perform DFM with vendors
- Prepare final drawings and BOMs for fabrication
- Build initial prototypes of proposed designs and complete validation
- Perform required design verification
- Collaborate effectively in a remote environment
- Work as an individual contributor on new product development of test equipment
Requirements
- Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 8 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Stress/strain analysis and FEA skills
- Familiar with system level and board level power distribution and cooling methods
- Proficient with Solidworks (or similar) and PDM tools
- Sheetmetal, machined, plastic injection molded part design experience
- Cable harness design experience
- General mechanism design experience
- Familiarity with compliance standards ie SEMI, IEC/EN/UL 61010 is a plus
- Experience with Semiconductor package handlers and wafer probers is a plus
- Able to prepare presentations explaining work and design proposal to remote teams
- Familiar with remote collaboration tools (Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team and across disciplines.
