About the role
- Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
- Lead SCADA/I&C practice in Texas and execute I&C and SCADA projects from inception to startup and turnover
- Work with multi-discipline teams on I&C and SCADA design, construction, and implementation for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, and facilities
- Oversee development of technical design and construction documents including construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to create technical memoranda and design criteria
- Develop SCADA system architecture, P&IDs, SCADA network diagrams, process control functional narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, and interconnection diagrams
- Assist project managers with defining scope of work, preparing budgets, estimating costs, and developing project schedules
- Oversee design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems
- Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkouts, and startups for I&C and SCADA systems
- Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMIs for SCADA systems across platforms
- Manage configuration of historical data collection, archiving, and report generation
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers to support professional growth
- Travel up to 25% to client sites and other Arcadis office locations as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- 10 years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in the water/wastewater market or similar industry
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a TX PE license within 12 months of hire date
- Preferred: 15 years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in the water/wastewater market or similar industry
- Preferred: Experience in developing bid and construction documents
- Preferred: PLC/HMI programming, configuration & startup experience
- Ability to self-direct and manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines
- Advanced knowledge applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment
- Experience developing SCADA networks, fiber optic cable networks, radio and cellular telemetry networks
- Knowledge of IT and industrial networks
- Experience conducting factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkouts, and startups
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to client sites and Arcadis office locations
