About the role
- Build engineering strategy to ensure high performance and quality standards for products
- Influence creation and manufacturing throughout product creation cycle from innovation to production
- Deliver recommendations on organizational structures and processes for technical aspects of footwear product creation
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop best practices and ensure processes are in place for performance and quality
- Drive engineering excellence and help evolve product creation strategy
- Partner with manufacturing partners to drive product excellence and innovation
- Collaborate with Footwear Leadership and corporate Sustainability teams to develop and drive sustainability agenda
Requirements
- 15+ years’ experience in a technical aspect of the footwear industry (engineering, development, manufacturing, etc.)
- Proven experience building engineering systems, structures, and teams from the ground up
- Strong influential leadership to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of footwear construction, foams and rubbers, pattern making, manufacturing, costing, lasts, and materials
- Proven skills in interpreting design intent and product innovation
- Proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal
- Entrepreneurial with the ability to make decisions and take calculated risks
- Proactive in identifying root causes of issues and developing solutions
- Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
