About the role

  • Oversees clinical nutrition at Methodist Charlton, Richardson, Celina and Southlake.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the administrative and clinical operations of the Nutrition Services Department, providing leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality, effective nutrition services.
  • Facilitates and directs operations of nutrition care services using knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).
  • Ensures compliance with and implements policies/ procedures, standards, programs and processes to ensure that all patients’ nutrition needs are met across the healthcare system, region or district.
  • Positions clinical nutrition staff as providers of high-quality and cost-effective patient care.
  • Oversees and directs the development and implementation of nutrition care standards and protocols and nutrition education resources.
  • Manages dietetic interns at various hospital locations and provides feedback to program directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or related area, granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent.
  • Master’s degree required in needed for registration requirements.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); certification/licensure as required by state of practice.
  • Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship, or a Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical dietetics and minimum of 2 years supervisory experience with progressive increase in responsibilities preferred.
  • Experience leading clinical nutrition staff across multiple facilities, within a hospital system, district or region preferred.
