About the role

  • Manages production for 3 points of service: patients, retail and catering
  • Trains and manages kitchen personnel and supervises/coordinates all related culinary activities
  • Estimates food consumption and requisitions or purchases food
  • Selects and develops recipes as well as standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establishes presentation technique and quality standards, and plans and prices menus
  • Ensures proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversees special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques

Requirements

  • Requires 2+ years’ of culinary management experience; with knowledge of various culinary techniques
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Culinary Arts degree desired
  • SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required
  • Final candidates will need to perform a cooking demonstration as part of the interview process
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to recipe adherence and modification
