About the role
- Manages production for 3 points of service: patients, retail and catering
- Trains and manages kitchen personnel and supervises/coordinates all related culinary activities
- Estimates food consumption and requisitions or purchases food
- Selects and develops recipes as well as standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establishes presentation technique and quality standards, and plans and prices menus
- Ensures proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversees special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
Requirements
- Requires 2+ years’ of culinary management experience; with knowledge of various culinary techniques
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Culinary Arts degree desired
- SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required
- Final candidates will need to perform a cooking demonstration as part of the interview process
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to recipe adherence and modification
