About the role
- Support with day-to-day copywriting, content design, email, social media, editorial, events, etc.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing manager, and marketing and events assistant, current employees and their departments, and external partners to develop communications and deliver consistent messaging both externally and internally that support the strategic plan.
- Support the implementation and execution of retail, catering, and dining hall initiatives.
- Assist with managing the timelines and approvals processes required for various event/engagement-related projects.
- Provide edits on copy with basic editing for graphics and images.
- Assists with campaign-related development - social media and traditional media.
- Using appropriate tools moderates interactions with the public and ensures social media policies and procedures are respected.
- Assists with updating information on the company websites, ensures that all information follows standards, and identifies new and innovative web and digital solutions to the marketing manager.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute fresh ideas and approaches to drive sales growth and student engagement.
- Ensure locations are adhering to Pricing Strategies, Plan-o-grams, and Brand Standards.
- Create and plan social media strategy, create content for all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and any other emerging platforms as required.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a CO-OP program at a designated educational institution.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
- Experience and interest in content creation for social media preferred.
- Experience working with Canva is considered an asset.
- The ability to communicate appropriately, clearly, and concisely with customers, clients, employees, and leadership.
- Dependable, reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends, or holidays according to business needs.
- Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
