About the role

  • Support building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources and deliver analytics-ready datasets
  • Support implementing a layered data structure (Bronze / Silver / Gold) with clear standards
  • Develop and maintain data transformation logic using SQL and Python, producing reusable and well-documented pipelines and data products
  • Work with the data team to implement data quality controls (validation rules, anomaly checks) and log reporting so issues are detected early and traced to root cause
  • Maintain documentation standards for pipelines, data models, dependencies, business rules, and change history
  • Work with stakeholders across IT, Operations, and Business Solutions to gather requirements, and support delivery of trusted datasets for reporting
  • Maintain key KPI definitions and support glossary/metadata updates to ensure consistent interpretation across teams
  • Contribute to platform adoption and best practices as APG moves to Microsoft Fabric, including using Fabric components (e.g., Lakehouse/Warehouse, pipelines/dataflows, notebooks)
  • Support pipeline performance and reliability improvements by applying best practices

Requirements

  • 1–3 years’ experience in Data Engineering / BI Engineering / ETL Engineering
  • Good working knowledge in SQL and Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline support
  • Experience supporting or building pipelines across one or more data sources and delivering curated datasets for BI/analytics
  • Able to troubleshoot data issues and pipeline failures
  • Good communication skills: clarify requirements, provide updates, and document work clearly
  • Basic understanding of data modeling for reporting (e.g., facts/dimensions, star schema)
  • Understanding of layered/medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold or staging/curated)
  • Good understanding of data governance basics: documentation, KPI definitions, and access/privacy awareness
  • Exposure to ML/AI (forecasting and/or agent building) through work or university projects
