Under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer, support a variety of site civil, land development, and stormwater management projects from concept through construction.
Prepare engineering design plans, details, and calculations for site layout, grading, drainage, and utility systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Perform stormwater management system design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling using HydroCAD, PCSWMM, and related software.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, design memoranda, specifications, and bid documents.
Assist in the preparation of local, state, and federal permit applications, including supporting documentation, narratives, and calculations.
Conduct field investigations and data collection, including GPS surveys, utility and infrastructure assessments, and construction observation.
Support the preparation of peer review evaluations for municipal projects, reviewing site design and stormwater management submittals for compliance with applicable standards.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support stormwater infrastructure improvement projects, water distribution system upgrades, and transportation-related site design efforts as needed.
Utilize GIS applications to support design and analysis of infrastructure and stormwater systems.
Maintain positive and professional working relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulatory staff.
Provide mentorship and on-the-job training for junior staff or interns.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits to ensure design intent and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
Excellent writing skills
Previous intern or co-op experience preferred
Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS applications
Proficient with MS Office software
EIT certification preferred. If working toward EIT, must obtain within the first year of employment
Valid and clean driver’s license
